The “little black dress” (#LBD) is always a classic go-to when you don’t know what to wear, wearing color isn’t your thing, or need a little versatility when it comes to your next activity after the party. In the second episode of Emily in Paris, Emily takes a spin on the LBD with a black taffeta strapless dress.
French demeanor is the exact opposite of the Midwestern “Nice” that Emily experienced in Chicago. Although her French co-workers are intentionally starting off their relationships on the wrong foot, she seems to push past their asshole ways and repeatedly rants on about her social media marketing ideas.
Her boss Sylvie is not into including Emily in well, pretty much anything. To her distaste Emily is invited to the fancy perfume launch taking place that evening.
I was wanting to re-create either this look or the black dress that she wore to the ballet. I loved the taffeta so this look took precedent over the others.

Does anyone else come to quickly realize that Emily really did not bring that much luggage with her and somehow she has the most vivid wardrobe that works in so many impractically small bags and extremely expensive vintage Chanel pieces? Clearly, I wish I could steal a piece or two. Aside from the point, Emily arrives at the party looking effortlessly beautiful.
