We all know the last minute dilemma of deciding to take the plunge on a work night and go out with little to no time to decide what to wear. When in doubt, just throw on a black dress.

There is no “weekend” for 1 Oak as every night is an exclusive gathering. You can find 1 Oak in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dubai, Tokyo, and the Maldives. With their state of the art DJ Booth, the venue never fails to deliver a night of dancing, drinking, and schmoozing. Although the tables and bottle service come along with a hefty price tag, you can always bypass this with a promoter in NYC. I always giggle a little each time a promoter texts me, because heloooo I am not going out every Monday night- but they keep up with their automated messages. I mean, if one of my favorite artists were playing on a weeknight, I would push through a hangover the next day for it.

Two of my friends were visiting from Minnesota, so I thought I would show them either Tao Downtown or 1 Oak. We were six feet away from Rae Sremmurd and Swae Lee, and the best part about it was we did not even plan this! We were moving around the room as tables were being reserved, so we moved our bottle service where the promoter guided us. A crowd started to form towards the front stage, and we started to converse with a group of guys that had bought a table. They let us sit with them, and we were able to climb up close to the stage. (Thank you Sydney for taking one for the team and fake flirting with the old guy).

Rae and Swalee were on-point live. Although some of their songs have an autotune sound to them, we enjoyed the performance live. Some of my favorites are Powerglide, This Could be Us, Black Beatles, and come get her. I actually did not initially know that these two were brothers. Rae – 26, Swalee – 24.

If you want to ball out and reserve a table, by all means go for it. I suggest texting a promoter first.
