There are hundreds of places throughout NYC that can make you feel like you are in a fantasy world. Make Believe wasn’t exactly one of those places for me, but it did have some interesting decor. With the title of “Make Believe”, I was expecting some sort of magical decor that made you feel like you were in a land of make-believe. Upon walking into The Sixty Hotel in the LES, make your way up to the rooftop, and you will find yourself in a tropical space that also has an antique feel and pops of pink.
They have cute cocktails, a patio, and best of all, a pink retro phone with leopard wallpaper behind it. We also snuck behind the DJ booth to snap some pictures before being told by the staff to move away from there. The DJ booth had sprinkles of pinks, magentas, and gold along with some disco balls. My favorite decor items were the painted pink bananas and the disco ball in a bird cage.
During the weekends it can get crowded pretty quickly, so try and get ahead of the crowd.
Before this, we had stopped into the Beauty Blender pop-up. This pop-up was showcasing the new line of foundation. You were able to shop for beauty blenders in a grocery store-esque setting, and or get matched for your correct foundation shade.
