Commando Shapewear Leggings

I initially was under the impression that Shapewear was only for special occasions, or for people trying to “tuck that tummy in.” With brands like Miraclesuit having slogans promising that you will: “Look 10 pounds lighter in 10 seconds” I correlated a sense of discomfort towards shapewear. With your body being squeezed into garments for 8+ hours a day, how does one even drink water? But, there are more subtle takes on shapewear. Brands such as Commando, Spanx, and Yummie by former New York Housewife Heather Thompson bring an everyday look and feel to the garment.

Shapewear can vary from garments below working the whole body and resembling corsets, to more subtle control top leggings. These leggings just have an extra layer of fabric on the inside compared to regular leggings.

I came across these Commando leggings on Black Friday because they were 50% off at Lure Intimates. Working in a buying office where we have Commando as a vendor, I knew it was very rare to have Commando go 50% off so I had to splurge. Lure Intimates packaged them perfectly, and even left an adorable handwritten note. A handful of people with the spotlight on them are in shapewear to resemble the popular curvy body image, and you would never even guess it!
