Brooklyn Rooftop

With Instagram turning everyone into self made photographers, I fully applaud every true photographer that promotes themself and their business everyday. Although most people do not want to pay for shoots because their friend can take a photo with Portrait Mode on their IPhone for free, there is an element still missing in those Iphone photos. Someone with a true passion and knowledge for photography will put forth much more talented work.

Amanda Ramirez has been behind the lens for her whole life. She started her own company, and specializes in events and childrens photoshoots. I had the pleasure of meeting her through working at Lord & Taylor Corporate. Being on Vesey Street, we had amazing photo locations everyday during lunch breaks in the gleaming sun. But we decided to take a shoot to Brooklyn.

AJ Fergus

Right across from BAM Peter Jay Sharp Building: Brooklyn’s Performing Arts School, lives AJ Fergus. He is also a photographer. We did a rooftop shoot, where I wanted to incorporate a street style aesthetic. We had less than hour before sunset to get shots in. Although it was terribly frightening to get up the small ladder to the roof, and the light repeatedly did not sync with the camera, we got some great shots.
