I’ve been seeing plaid everywhere. From the streets of NY, to the window displays of fast fashion stores, vintage stores, and Instagram. #PlaidBlazer has almost 2,000 tags on Instagram. A large majority of these are grey with white and black stripes, but a handful have a spark of color.

This look has been styled in various ways. From leather pants, to just high boots, or a skirt. Overall the blazer is very versatile.

My Look:

Although I would have loved to pop into Zara and get a true menswear inspired blazer with broad shoulders, I wanted to incorporate something that I already had from my closet. A few years ago I got a plaid blazer from Marshall’s thinking I would wear I️t to a career fair or interview. Turns out it’s one of those purchases that I just never ended up wearing…. always happens to me when you pile in a bunch of outlet priced items in your cart. But all that matters is that I finally got some use out of it! I added a preppy feel to the look with the high socks and shimmery heels.
