The Friends Apartment & DKNY

The Friends apartment location in reality makes no sense. It’s sits on the corner of Bedford Street, and Grove. This is no where near Central Perk. In fact, the commute would be over 50 minutes. You would even need to take a train from Penn Station to get there!

The coffee shop Central Perk in reality is actually The Little Owl which is an upscale small restaurant. It sits right under the apartment complex, just as it does in the show. Seeing as the fountain in the opening intro of the show is not even in New York (it is in Burbank California). I was not surprised that their regular dining spot was not logically close. With how busy New York is, it would be impossible to always close off Central Perk for filming without disturbing the actual regulars there.

Read these fun facts to have your mind blown! It is always amusing for myself  to see people who have watched the series come to New York, and on Snapchat snap random fountains saying “It’s the Friends fountain!!” when they couldn’t be farther away from it.

When visiting, we saw a good amount of tourists also trying to get a good picture in front of the building. It is honestly so hard to get a good shot without a bystander, biker, or cab in the background.

I am strolling around the neighborhood in a DKNY sheer bodysuit, a long BCBG skirt, and some black booties. This bodysuit is from DKNY’s Runway Collection which I absolutely love!
