Who said you had to cover yourself with the American flag on Fourth of July?…No one! We put together cute and classy alternatives to sticking to the color theme of red white and blue.
One of my best friends @MissMollieGrace recently moved to Boston, and came to visit me for The Fourth of July. Mollie and I are both from Minnesota, and it is an amazing change to both be on the east coast for the start of our twenties and careers.
Originally I was going to wear an American flag one piece swimsuit from American Apparel with a skirt, but then decided it did not match the venue that we were going to. Plus, who likes spending money on something they will most likely wear for a few hours and never touch again? Uh not me on a New York budget!
Look Around your Coset: Mix and match random pieces before just running to the store before a holiday. You never know what you might create.
The Press Lounge has amazing views, intriguing decor, and a beautifully quaint aesthetic. The winning outfit for this occasion was all from Banana Republic for Mollie. Her white shorts and off the shoulder striped shirt bring together style and practicality, as it was very very warm out. I chose to wear a blue backless romper, with an assorted colored silk scarf, pearl necklace, and white Rebecca Minkoff bag. Heels completed the look for both of us.
Undergarment Tip: Instead of having your strapless bra pop out here and there, find nipple covers that are suitable for swimwear. My favorite are by Magic Bodyfashion.
